robotShock
Pilot a battle robot through 7 random sci-fi bases and blast every laser turret.
You are MIKE, a battle robot with a laser cannon on its shoulder. The camera sits behind your shoulder, a yellow gunsight marks your aim, and every base you enter is built new each time you play: rooms, corridors, crates and turrets are placed at random, so no two runs look the same. The minimap in the corner fills in as you explore.
Your mission in every stage: destroy all the turrets. Gun turrets fire bursts of red laser bolts, laser turrets charge a beam (watch the thin red line and step aside before it fires), cannons lob plasma balls, mortars drop shells on a red warning ring and snipers lock on with a long laser sight. Enemy robots join the fight – troopers that strafe and shoot, fast runners that kick and heavy brutes with plasma guns. When the last turret falls, the exit portal opens: walk into it to warp to the next base.
Hold the fire button for a stream of blue laser bolts – but watch the heat arc around the gunsight: fire too long and the cannon overheats. Dash through danger, jump over shock waves and fill your energy bar for an EMP SHOCK blast that damages and stuns everything around you. Your laser gets stronger every two stages, from twin shots to a triple spread. Seven stages, the last one guarded by the 8-metre SHOCK TITAN.
Items drop from destroyed robots and turrets: ARMOR (+50 armour), ENERGY (+50 energy), RAPID (12 s of fast fire with no overheating), SHIELD (a bubble that blocks every hit for 10 s), 2X POWER (double laser damage for 12 s), LASER UP (one more laser level, up to a five-way spread) and the rare 1UP (an extra life).
Difficulty: choose EASY (5 lives, weaker enemies), NORMAL (3 lives) or HARD (2 lives, tougher and faster-shooting enemies, ×1.5 points) on the title screen.
Weapons: your LASER never runs out, and robots and turrets drop five more guns with limited ammo – SPREAD (a seven-shot fan), PLASMA (exploding plasma orbs), RAILGUN (an instant beam that pierces every robot in a line), MISSILES (two homing rockets per shot) and TESLA (chain lightning that jumps between enemies). Switch guns with 1–6, R or the mouse wheel (the GUN button on a phone).
Crates and barrels: the crates you hide behind can be shot to pieces – by you and by the enemy – and sometimes hold an item. Red barrels and fuel tanks explode: shoot one next to a turret or a group of robots for heavy blast damage, and keep away from them yourself.

Enemies
- Gun turret – fires bursts of three red laser bolts. Keep moving sideways and shoot back.
- Laser turret – charges for about a second – a thin red line shows where the beam will go. It locks its aim just before firing, so sidestep or dash when the line stops moving.
- Cannon turret – fires slow, glowing plasma balls that explode on impact. Hide behind crates.
- Mortar turret – lobs shells high over walls. A red ring on the floor shows where each shell will land – leave the ring.
- Sniper turret – aims a long laser sight at you for almost two seconds, then fires one fast, heavy bolt. Break the line of sight behind a wall or a crate.
- Heavy turret – the big guns of the SHOCK CORE: a stronger beam and extra plasma balls.
- Trooper robot – keeps its distance, strafes and fires bursts of laser bolts.
- Runner robot – fast and fragile: it sprints at you and kicks. Shoot it before it gets close.
- Brute robot – slow and tough, with a plasma gun. Use the EMP to stun it.
- SHOCK TITAN (boss) – an 8-metre robot: plasma fans, a sweeping laser stream, a ground slam that sends out shock rings (jump over them) and calls runners when it is angry.
All 7 stages
Stage 1: Hangar Bay
A warm, sunset-lit hangar with gun turrets and trooper robots – learn to move, aim and watch your heat.

Stage 2: Cargo Docks
Open docks under a blue sky. Cannon turrets join the gun turrets, and the first runners attack.

Stage 3: Cryo Lab
Snow falls over the cold lab. Laser turrets charge their beams – sidestep when the red line locks.

Stage 4: Reactor Core
Green reactor light, mortar shells over the walls and the first heavy brute robot.

Stage 5: Foundry
A red-hot foundry with drifting embers. Sniper turrets cover the long corridors.

Stage 6: Command Deck
The purple command deck: every kind of turret and a big robot squad.

Stage 7: Shock Core
The heart of the enemy base. Heavy turrets guard the arena of the SHOCK TITAN. Destroy them all to win.

Tips and tricks
- Keep moving: almost every turret aims at where you are now.
- Fire in bursts – let the heat arc cool down instead of overheating at the worst moment.
- Hold the right mouse button to zoom in for long shots at snipers.
- Save the EMP for groups of robots or the boss: it stuns them for three seconds.
- Dash makes you invulnerable for a split second – use it to pass through a beam or a plasma ball.
- Robots often drop green (armour) and blue (energy) crystals – grab them.
- The minimap shows turrets you have seen as red squares. Clear one room at a time.
- Lure robots next to a red barrel, then shoot the barrel – the blast also sets off nearby barrels.
Frequently asked questions
Is robotShock free?
Yes. It is free to play in your browser with no download and no sign-up. Ads are shown only on the page below the game, never during play.
Are the levels really random?
Yes. Every time a stage starts, a new base is generated: the rooms, corridors, props, turrets and robots are placed at random. The seven stage themes stay the same.
How do I play on my phone?
Use your left thumb to walk (a joystick appears where you touch), drag on the right side to look, and hold FIRE – you can drag on the FIRE button to aim while shooting. JUMP, DASH and EMP have their own buttons. A light aim assist helps on touch screens.
What happens when my armour runs out?
You lose one of three lives and reboot at the start pad of the stage, with destroyed turrets staying destroyed. Stages you have reached unlock on the title screen.
Who made the 3D models?
The robots, the sci-fi base kit and the turrets are free CC0 models by Quaternius (Animated Mech Pack, Ultimate Modular Sci-Fi and Turret Pack). The game, effects, sounds and code are original.
