BLOCKO
The classic falling-blocks puzzle, built from glossy 3D blocks.
Seven block shapes fall into the well one by one. Move and rotate each piece so it lands in the right place – when a row is filled from wall to wall it clears and everything above drops down. Clear four rows at once for a QUAD, the biggest bonus in the game.
BLOCKO adds modern comforts to the timeless puzzle: a ghost piece that shows where the block will land, a hold slot to save a piece for later, a preview of the next three pieces, and fair rotation that slides a piece off the wall when it fits. Every ten rows the level goes up and the blocks fall faster. Free in your browser, on computer or phone.

The seven blocks
- I (light blue) – the long bar – the only piece that clears four rows at once. Keep one column open for it.
- O (yellow) – the square. It never rotates, so drop it on any flat spot.
- T (purple) – fits almost anywhere and can twist into tight gaps for a T-spin bonus.
- S and Z (green and red) – the zigzags. Lay them flat on matching steps so they leave no holes.
- J and L (blue and orange) – the hooks. Great for filling corners and the edges of the well.
From level 1 to the top
Levels 1–3: warm-up
Blocks fall slowly – one row per second. Learn the controls, keep the stack flat and leave the right-hand column open.

Clearing four rows: QUAD
Fill four rows except one column, then drop a straight I piece into the gap. A QUAD scores 800 × level, and another QUAD right after it scores 50% more.

Levels 4–9: speeding up
The drop speed rises with every level. Use the ghost piece to aim and hard-drop to save time; hold an I piece for the next QUAD.

Levels 10 and up: fast drop
Pieces fall in a flash. Plan with the next queue, avoid tall towers and clear rows early – combos of back-to-back clears add bonus points.

Game over and high score
The game ends when a new piece has no room to appear. Your best score is saved in your browser – start again and beat it.

Tips and tricks
- Keep the stack low and flat – bumps and holes are what end games.
- Leave one column at the side empty for the I piece and clear four rows together.
- Use hold for a piece that doesn't fit now (often the I or a zigzag).
- Watch the next pieces, not only the falling one.
- Hard drop (Space) as soon as the ghost piece is in the right place – it saves time and scores 2 points per row.
Frequently asked questions
Is BLOCKO free?
Yes. It is free to play in your browser with no download and no sign-up. The site is supported by ads shown below the game, never during play.
How does scoring work?
1 row = 100, 2 rows = 300, 3 rows = 500 and 4 rows (QUAD) = 800 points, multiplied by the level. Soft drop gives 1 point per row, hard drop 2, and combos of clears in a row add bonus points.
Can I play on my phone?
Yes. Use the on-screen buttons to move, rotate, drop and hold. It also works in portrait mode on phones.
Who made the 3D blocks?
The blocks are built from the free Colorful Block Puzzle Shapes Pack on CGTrader (royalty-free licence). The game, sounds and code are original.
