Desert Storm
Fight street by street through a desert town held by gunmen and snipers.
Armed men have taken over a small walled desert town – mud-brick houses, a market with fruit stalls, a bus station, a palm park, a building site and an army checkpoint with a tank and a Humvee. Machine-gunners run you down in the streets and snipers watch the long roads and the doorways of the houses. You have an AK rifle and one job on every stage: reach the exit, the green ring of light somewhere far across town. The green arrow at the top of the screen always points the way.
Desert Storm runs on the engine of Sweet Bullet (the web remake of the Prasansoft PC game Thai Shooter) – the same gunmen, rifle, sounds and enemy AI – but leaves the office building behind for open streets. The town is built from the Desert Storm model pack for FPS Creator: twenty kinds of houses, vehicles, crates, barrels, concrete barriers, street lamps and palm trees, all converted to run in the browser. Many houses have an open doorway and rooms inside, and the gunmen hold them too.
Outdoors the fight is different from a corridor shooter. Sight lines are long, so the snipers can reach you from across a crossroads. Move from cover to cover – crates, barrels, concrete barriers, parked cars, the corners of the houses – and never stand still in the middle of a street. The AK is fully automatic with 30 rounds per magazine; aim for the head and pick up the spare magazines lying around town.
12 stages. Every stage starts you somewhere new in town, puts the exit far across the streets, places the gunmen and items at random and changes the weather: high noon on stage 1, then sandstorm, sunset, dust haze, night raid and dawn. Each stage brings more gunmen (from 18 up to 40), more machine-gunners and sharper aim. Reaching an exit gives you +30 health and +30 rounds for the next stage.

Enemies, weapon and items
- Machine-gunner – 6 of them on stage 1, up to 17 later. They spot you from about 15 metres, fire bursts of four shots (4–8 damage per hit), strafe from side to side, and run after you – zig-zagging – when you break line of sight. 100 health.
- Sniper – 12 on stage 1, the long-range defenders of the town. They hold their post, shuffle or crouch, and fire one heavy shot (12–20 damage) every two to three seconds from as far as 30 metres. They run to a new spot when you get far away. 80 health.
- AK rifle – fully automatic, about ten rounds a second, 30 rounds per magazine. Four body hits or two head hits drop a gunman; at long range the damage drops a little.
- Spare magazines – +60 rounds each. Eleven lie around town on stage 1 and one more on every later stage.
- Health pack – +40 health, up to 100. Only four on each stage.
- Exit (green ring) – the way out of each stage, far across town from where you start. Step into the green light to finish the stage.
The desert town
Streets and crossroads
Three main roads cross the town each way. Parked Humvees, crates, barrels and concrete barriers stand along them – your cover. The crossroads themselves are kept clear, so cross them fast.

Houses
Mud-brick houses fill most blocks. Many can be entered through an open doorway; a gunman inside a dark room is hard to see from the bright street, so clear doorways carefully.

Market and bus station
Fruit stalls, cardboard boxes and a parked bus give good cover in the open blocks – and good hiding places for the gunmen.

Army checkpoint and building site
A tank, a Humvee, a container and concrete barriers on one block, scaffolding, crates and barrels on another: strong points worth taking.

Town wall
A concrete wall runs all round the town; the minarets and the houses of the old city rise behind it. There is no way out except the green exit.

Tips and tricks
- Follow the green arrow at the top of the screen – it always points to the exit.
- Move from cover to cover. In the open streets the snipers see you from 30 metres away.
- Keep the crosshair at head height: a head hit does almost three times the damage of a body hit, and a head-shot kill scores 750 instead of 500.
- Cross the crossroads quickly – they are always open ground.
- Look into the doorways before you walk past a house.
- Reload (R) behind a wall or a car, never in the middle of the road.
- In the sandstorm and at night you see less, but so do they: close the distance and fight at short range.
Frequently asked questions
Is Desert Storm free?
Yes. It is free to play in your browser with no download and no sign-up. Ads are shown only on the page below the game, never during play.
How is the score counted?
500 points for each gunman (750 for a head-shot kill, +100 for a sniper). Every exit you reach adds 2,000 points plus 10 points for every second under 3:00 on that stage. Clearing all 12 stages adds 10,000 points and 20 points for every point of health left. Good scores go into the world TOP 10.
How do I play on my phone?
Move with your left thumb (a joystick appears where you touch), drag on the right side to aim, and hold FIRE. Push the joystick all the way to run.
What is the difference from Sweet Bullet?
Sweet Bullet is fought inside an office building, Desert Storm in the streets and houses of a desert town, with long sight lines, outdoor cover, sunlight and shadows, and weather – sandstorm, dust haze, sunset, dawn and night. The rifle, the gunmen and the scoring are the same.
What happens when my health runs out?
The game ends and shows your kills, time and score. Press PLAY AGAIN to start a new run.
