Metal Gear Famicom review
8/10
Solid Snake infiltrates a nuclear facility in the stealth game that started a legendary series.
Metal Gear asks you to sneak through a base, avoid guards and find items. Stealth and caution matter more than gunfire, which set this game apart at the time.
The Famicom version is a foundation of the series, and its ideas still feel fresh in many ways.
Pros
- Early stealth design
- Historic series origin
- Tense atmosphere
Cons
- Dated controls
- Confusing map
