Battle City Famicom review

1985 · Namco · Tank shooter · Updated 2026-10-22

8/10

Defend your base in a tight, tank-filled maze of brick walls and steel.

Battle City puts a tank at the bottom of the screen and asks you to protect your base. Brick walls can be destroyed, while steel is solid, so the terrain shapes every fight.

The game is tense and clever. Its simple rules create a lot of tactical choices, and the two-player mode is a strong draw.
